![]() Among other things.”Ĭauldron’s leader slowly pointed a finger in the air. Yesterday my power told me to go to the Confederate States of America. “The girl - Parallel - is like a reverse Scion. It’s like I’m asking for the address of a house in New York and getting handed every Latvian phonebook from the twentieth century.” complained the thinker.ĭoctor raised an eyebrow. “Getting something from my power is the problem. “You were able to get something from the path to victory, this time?” she said a twinge of hope. No matter how probable, you just didn’t know.ĭoctor Mother was drumming her fingers on the table, trying to think. Most of the time this wasn’t a problem, as the experienced fencer would roll over them. Their feet would be placed in known stances. They would use set, specific hand positions for their foil. The equal would be trained in roughly the same way, would be nominally predictable. There's clearly something more going on here (probably related to timeline shinenagans or what have you, since I'm betting that Prophet is an alternate timeline version of someone–possibly the Number's Man), but the conflict being established just doesn't add up.Īn experienced fencer will tell you that they would rather face a peer, somebody at their level, rather than a complete newcomer to the sport. Cauldron doesn't need to have any kind of marketshare of the "powers-for-sale" market to keep operating, and Plasmids/Vigors don't offer nearly as much potential as a Cauldron vial anyway. ![]() There are plenty of valid theories as to what they could really be up to, and the declining number of new Case 53s allows for a fair degree of guesswork, but anybody smart would at least suspect that Cauldron creates the vials as a sideshow to some larger schemes.ģ could be correct, but makes this whole economics side kind of irrelevant. If their goals were anything as mundane as the accumulation of wealth or power there are far easier ways that selling vials. Cauldron has, or easily could've easily past that point ages ago. There comes a point when money is no longer valuable (the point when your capacity to spend money is less than the money you have). Those would be pretty superior.Ĭlick to shrink. My problem with those theories though:ġ and 2 don't pass the smell test. If everyone has Perfect Information, which would include the fact that the sandwich is addictive according to your analogy, then Cauldron is still VASTLY superior, albeit incredibly expensive.Įdit: ALTHOUGH the various Tonics are particularly effective as they aren't Reliant on EVE. Their clients have about a 1% chance of mutation, judging from Battery's Interlude. If they want a high quality, well-suited power, like Accord is wont to seek, then Cauldron is the superior option.Īlso, it's the majority of Cauldron's Test Subjects that end up Mutating. ![]() If a Gang Leader wants a ton of cheap, disposable, superpowered muscle, then Vigors and Salts are the way to go. If the buyers have to constantly pay the vendor for refueling, then, at a certain point, Cauldron becomes cheaper as well. Not to mention that you need to constantly refuel with EVE and Salts, which is a pretty heavy burden. Plasmids and Vigors, while still varied, are incredibly limited in terms of what effects they offer. ![]() As it is they're probably quite unhappy to be blindsided by this development, even if it is promising.Įhhh, judging from what I know of Vigors and Plasmids, Cauldron Vials are overwhelmingly superior in terms of Quality and Options. Otherwise this would indeed be the best thing ever. Sadly, it also one Cauldron does not control. Basically powers that Eidolon constantly uses in the field, but now he doesn't need his own juice or to dedicate one of his powers to providing. Giving him a bunch of powers, particularly powers that improve his base durability or thinking passively and therefore eliminate the need for Brute powers to keep him alive? Or if they can get him some kind of refined teleport power (I'm thinking the Unstable Teleport from the first Bioshock, and how IIRC there was gonna be a teleport plasmid, but it just didn't work in the game too well). Yet at least.Įidolon's one of the few things they can't predict, and is unique enough he could screw up a lot of things. For instance, they don't know how reliable these powers are long term or if they have hidden costs. The big question is, will they at some point take the risk (from their point of view) of Eidolon taking on these powers.
